چکیده
A hybrid numerical model previously developed for combustion simulations is extended in this article to describe flame propagation and stabilization porous media. The model, with a special focus on flame/wall interaction processes, validated via corresponding benchmarks involving channels both adiabatic constant-temperature walls. Simulations different channel widths show that the can correctly capture changes shape speed as well dead zone quenching limit, found cold further assessed considering pseudo two-dimensional burner an array of cylindrical obstacles at constant temperature, investigated companion experimental study. Furthermore, used simulate pore-scale dynamics randomly generated three-dimensional Results are promising, opening door future realistic

Investigation of pore-scale random porous media using lattice boltzmann method
The permeability and tortuosity of pore-scale two and three-dimensional random porous media were calculated using the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). Effects of geometrical parameters of medium on permeability and tortuosity were investigated as well. Two major models of random porous media were reconstructed by computerized tomography method: Randomly distributed rectangular obstacles in a uni...
متن کاملSPE 135506 Pore Scale Simulation of Flow in Porous Media Using Lattice-Boltzmann Computer Simulations
We describe the ongoing development of lattice-Boltzmann (LB) computer simulation codes to study flow in porous media at the pore scale. LB simulations have evolved over the past decade and are now used as a tool to calculate both singleand multi-phase flow properties directly at the pore scale using X-ray Micro Tomography (XMT) pore space images. We will review the development of our codes to ...
متن کاملPore-scale Simulation of High-density-ratio Multiphase Flows in Porous Media Using Lattice Boltzmann Method
A lattice Boltzmann high-density-ratio model, which uses diffuse interface theory to describe the interfacial dynamics and was proposed originally by Lee and Liu [T. Lee, L. Liu, Lattice Boltzmann simulations of micron-scale drop impact on dry surfaces, J. Comput. Phys. 229(2010) 8045-8063], is extended to simulate multiphase flows in porous media. A wetting boundary treatment is proposed for t...
